Bill Dexter is an internationally recognized risk management consultant and trainer and the former Director of the California Center for Construction Education for the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Bill's research over the past six years has focused on the materials and methods used during the renovation of historical buildings in the old city of Havana (Vieja), Cuba. The results of that effort have been presented to the Cuban-American architects in Miami, Florida at their annual Design Technology Exposition 2005 and to the Southern Florida Chapter of the ASID in Boca Raton, Florida. In 2006, Bill co-presented with M. Scott Radovich to the Construction Specifications Institute a program on the challenges confronting the restoration efforts in Havana of the historical architectural treasures and to the Associated Scholastic Colleges of Architecture in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Recent activities include project management analysis and constructability of drawings for Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, UAE. The project is the world's largest indoor amusement park. Additionally, conducted project management training for the senior engineers of the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company on preventing contract claims and alternative dispute resolution language in contracts.
